VHP stages sit-in over SASB land issue

Lucknow, Aug 10 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) here today staged a sit-in to protest the cancellation of land transfer to the Sri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and use of police force on agitators in Jammu.

A mob-led by former MP Dr Ram Vilas Das Vedanti gave vent to their anger at Barlington crossing.

Stating anti-Congress slogans, Mr Vedanti alleged the land transfer order was revoked on the directions of party president Sonia Gandhi.

Besides, Ms Gandhi has little concern for Kashmiri Pandits, he charged.

''The land has been taken back from the Shrine Board under the pressure of anti-national elements that would give them a way to accomplish their nefarious designs,'' Mr Vedanti alleged.
