Moderate quake hits Andaman Islands

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) A moderate intensity quake of 5.4 magnitude on the Richter Scale hit Andaman Islands this evening.

The tremors were felt at 1832 hours, the India Meteorological department said.

The epicentre of the quake was at 10.8 degrees North longitude and 91.7 degrees East latitude.

No casualties were reported.

According to the IMD, a strong quake of 6.6 magnitude on the Richter Scale was also reported at around 1350 hours.
