The 'inspiring' armless man who drinks beer with his feet

London, Aug 10 : When there's a will there's a way - this has been proved correct by Frank Letch - who's armless yet lives a normal daily life by using his feet.

Letch, 64, from Devon, a town's mayor had been born without arms, but he did not let the disability impede his life, and has become so efficient in using his feet that he has become an inspiration to the disabled.

He has developed such an incredible dexterity with his lower limbs that he can do everything an able-bodied person can do, even peeling potatoes and drinking beer with his feet.

A British production company, who noticed Letch's talents, wants him to act as a template for an animated character in new computer game.

For the part, he will be kitted out with special leggings fitted with electronic tags before being filmed carrying out various tasks with his feet, and the footage will then be mapped onto a computer and Frank, the Mayor of Crediton, will be transformed into a cartoon.

''They'll kit me out with special leggings fitted with electronic tags and then film me doing various things," News of the World quoted him as saying.

''This allows them to translate my movements and so create an animated character,'' he said.

He was approached by Fragment Media, based in Newcastle, after its director Simon McKeown spotted him at a disability exhibition.

''He wanted to see what I could do with my feet, so I showed him how I can use my toes to write,'' Letch added.
