Haryana sets up unmanned power sub station

Rohtak, Aug 10 (UNI) Haryana has set up its first unmanned 33 KV sub station at Bal Bhawan, here.

All the technical tests required for its commissioning has successfully been completed. The sub station has been energised on no load and the load would be put on the system shortly.

Giving details, a spokesman of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam said today that the latest technology had been used for setting up of the sub station in minimum land area. It had been connected with 132 KV sub station, Khokhrakot in this district through 33 KV line.

An eight MVA transformer had been installed in the sub station premises. The construction work had been completed at a cost of Rs 1.68 crore, he added.

The sub station and its feeders would be controlled from a remote location by computers and remote control hardware and software for controlling this sub station would be placed in the 33 KV sub station in Model Town area here.

The real-time data of each feeder and the power transformer would be available to the controlling authorities. "The remote control hub records all events in real time and enables preventive actions when electrical parameters go beyond safety levels, thus minimising damage to costly electrical equipment", the spokesman added.

He stated that the areas adjoining Rohtak-Sonipat road besides the Mini Secretariate, Judicial Complex and all the nearby government offices, AIR Road and Gohana Adda would be connected with this sub station. About 4,000 domestic and non domestic consumers of these areas would be benefited by way of better voltage and continuity of power supply, he added.
