DCB busts cricket betting racket in Vadodara, 5 held
Vadodara, Aug 10 (UNI) Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) sleuths claim to have unearthed a cricket betting racket in the city by arresting five bookies for allegedly betting on the ongoing India-Sri Lanka third and final test match being played at Colombo.
Acting on a tipoff, the DCB sleuths raided a building in the sensitive Sultanpura area of the city last night and arrested the five persons-- Amit Patel, Hardik Shah, Alpesh Shah, Chandresh Virwani and Kamlesh Rana, the owner of the house, police said A laptop, television set, one dozen mobiles and Rs 52,000 cash were also seized from the house, police said.
