Bangladeshi national arrested, smuggled goods seized
Barrackpore, Aug 10 (UNI) The Border Security Force nabbed a Bangladeshi smuggler at the T-junction of river Raimangal under Hingalgunj police station in North 24 Parganas and seized foreign garments worth Rs 1.16 crore from his possession.
Police said here today that the BSF intercepted a boat, carrying smuggled goods, coming from the Bangladesh side yesterday, and nabbed Shamim Sekh (30) of Khulna while five others of the gang managed to escape.
The seized goods were handed over to the customs authorities in Hingalgunj while police arrested the accused and produced him before the Basirhat sub-divisional court today.
