TN residents observe '8 min black out'

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 9: The city switched off their lights and went into eight minutes darkness at 2000 hrs on Friday, Aug 8 as part of the '08-08-08' campaign to create awareness on the ill-effects of Global Warming.

The campaign, organised by Exnora International, was extended full support by the students community, President of the Tiruchirapalli chapter of Exnora G Subramanian said. They also played a key role in spreading the message among elders.

This is only a beginning and campaigns to conserve energy and protect mother earth would continue, he added.
