St Anthony school bags fifth comp literacy excellence award

Shillong, Aug 9 (UNI) St Anthony's Higher Secondary School has been conferred the fifth Computer Literacy Excellence award for 2007 by the Union Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (IT).

The award, comprising a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh, will be handed over by Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology (IT) A Raja to the school principal, accompanied by the head of computer department on August 28 in New Delhi.

The school authority expressed gratitude to the North Eastern Council (NEC) and the state education department for extending support in upgrading the school's technical department.

The school had also initiated an e-learning project to revolutionise education with the financial assistance from NEC, according to official sources.

The first such award on computer literacy excellence was also bagged by the school in 2002.
