Scribes stage dharna

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Aug 9 (UNI) Undeterred by heavy rains, the Zilla Marathi Patrakar Sangh today staged a 'dharna' at Paithan Gate for three hours to condemn the recent roughing up on photographers and reporters.

It may be noted that the police bashed up photographer Hussain Jamadar and journalist Appasaheb Wanjare on the premises of Cantonment Police Station on August 4. Significantly, no action was taken against any police officer and employee so far.

The journalists association intensified the agitation and demanded lodging of complaint against deputy commissioner of police M B Tambade, police officers and their colleagues.

President of the Patrakar Sangh Balaji Suryavanshi, secretary Sanjay Warkad and president of Photographers' Association Feroz Khan led the agitation.

The office-bearers of various organizations, reporters, photographers and cameramen participated in the agitation.
