Low pressure to turn into depression
Bhubaneswar, Aug 09(UNI) The low pressure area formed over North-West Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal areas of Orissa and Gangetic West Bengal yesterday, is all likely to turn into a depression.
Met sources said it has already attained a well marked low pressure area by this morning and the system is likely to concentrate into a depression.
Under its impact, heavy to very heavy rain would occur at a few places over South Orissa, while heavy rain would lash isolated places in North Orissa during the next 24 hours.
Surface wind from North-Easterly direction with wind speed, reaching 45 to 55 Kms per hour, would prevail along and off Orissa coast.
The authorities have alerted the coastal districts and fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea in the next 24 hours.
