Kalka-Jodhpur Express derails at Ambala station
Ambala, Aug 9 (UNI) Rail traffic between Ambala-Rajpura was disrupted following derailment of an engine and a bogey of Kalka-Jodhpur Express late last night, official sources said today.
The train was on its way to Jodhpur from Kalka. As soon as it left Ambala City station around 0030 hrs, its engine and a bogey derailed near the outer signal area. However, the passengers travelling in the bogey escaped unhurt.
Ambala Railway Division additional general manager R K Saxena, along with other senior officers, immediately reached the spot and a relief train was requisitioned for restoration work.
The blocked track was cleared after several hours' work and the rail traffic on the route was resumed.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident, they added.
