Fruit trucks being taken to POK on Monday

Srinagar, Aug 9 (UNI) With the view of the continued economic blockade in Jammu, both the factions of Hurriyat Conference (HC) today announced to march towards Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) on Monday.

The announcement was made at a joint press conference addressed by the chairman of breakaway Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani and leaders of moderate Hurriyat Conference Shabir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan here.

They asked the fruit growers to reach at Parimpora fruit mandi on Monday at 1100 hrs to start journey towards Muzaffarabad.

The fruit growers have already announced that they will take hundreds of fruit trucks through Jehlum Valley road to POK in view of the attacks on trucks and drivers on Srinagar-Jammu-Lakhanpur National Highway by agitators.

They said fruit worth crores of rupees has been damaged due to blockade.

However, there would be no hartal and people are asked to continue their normal activities, the leaders said.
