Congress confident of forming next Government in Sikkim
Gangtok, Aug 9 (UNI) AICC Secretary and in-Charge of Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee, Sanjay Bapta today said the Congress will form the government in Sikkim in the state Assembly elections next year.
Congress definitely will form the government in Sikkim this time, said Bapta who is on a two-day visit in the state to oversee the state Congress preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The AICC secretary will be sounding the state Congress's election war cry by leading the party's public meeting at Soreng, West Sikkim tomorrow along with the state Congress president Nar Bahadur Bhandari.
We will expose the corrupt officials who have mismanaged the Central funds and failed in reaching the Centre's developmental programmes to the people, said Bapta in a press meet. He accused the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party of being involved in ''undemocratic'' activities.
However Bapta failed to explain about the regular clean chits given by Congress Central leaders to the SDF government.
An upbeat state Congress Chief Mr Bhandari said the party will form the next government in Sikkim on its own and without any alliance.
People of Sikkim will not tolerate the corrupt, communal and caste based politics of the SDF leadership, he said.
