Bhim Singh boycotts talks with the Centre
New Delhi, Aug 09 (UNI)National Panthers Party (NPP)chairman Bhim Singh, who is fasting for the sixth day today said that the party will not negotiate with any delegation which is led by tainted leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad and Prof Saifuddin Soz.
In his letter to Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Mr Bhim Singh demanded Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad should be prosecuted as he is responsible for the turmoil and deaths in the Jammu region.
Azad, on July 1, had ordered the cancellation of the allotment of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
Mr. Singh suggested some steps to the government to bring about peace in the region. He wanted the government to ammend Section 4 of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board Act 2000 and allow only the permanant residents of the state to be the members of the Shrine Board.
He also suggested to ammend the government's order of July 1, 2008 and divert the land in question to the shrine without changing the status of the propriety right of the forest department.
He has asked for a firm commitment from the government to end the age old discrimination against the Jammu region including the allocation of funds,employement oppurtunities and distribution of Assembly and Parliamentary seats.
He demanded the release of all the people unconditionally and compensation to be paid to the families of the dead and medical care to those the injured.
