2 police officers suspended in recruitment irregularities
Darbhanga, Aug 9 (UNI) A sergent Major and a sergeant were suspended today for their alleged involvement in irregularities committed in medical test of the aspirants during the recruitment of constables in 2007-08 in Madhubani district.
Deputy Inspector General(DIG) of Darbhanga range Binay Kumar said both the policemen were found guilty of extorting money from the aspirants for the posts of constables. A through inquiry conducted after receipt of the complaints, substantiated allegations levelled by the aspirants, he added.
'' Several candidates for the post of constable were declared unfit during the medical test supervised by the erring policemen,'' he said.
But these candidates were later found to be fit in a fresh test, conducted after the complaints.
Some aspirants had alleged that they were declared unfit despite fulfilling all the medical parameters as they had not paid illegal gratification demanded by the erring police officers.
