1 held in attempt to loot train in MP
Sagar (MP) Aug 9: A youth with criminal records was arrested for attempting to loot a train. He was held when he was placing bombs on railway tracks, railway police said on Saturday, Aug 9.
On a tip-off, police arrested Himmat Singh Lodhi from Bandakpur railway station yesterday and a live bomb was recovered from his possession.
In an attempt to rob the train on Monday, July 14, the accused placed two detonator bombs on the tracks near Ghatera station on Katni-Sagar section. One bomb exploded but no major accident occured.
However, Nizamuddin-Vishakhapatnam Express and Sambalpur Express were delayed.
Police said the accused, who was wanted in several cases of robbery in Damoh district had confessed his involvement in the crime.
