1 held in attempt to loot train
Sagar(MP), Aug 9(UNI) A youth with criminal record was arrested while attempting to loot train by placing bombs on tracks, railway police said today.
On a tipoff, Himmat Singh Lodhi was arrested from Bandakpur railway station yesterday and a live bomb recovered from his possession.
In an attempt to loot trains on July 14, the accused placed two detonator bombs on the tracks near Ghatera station on Katni-Sagar section and one bomb exploded, but no major accident occured.
However, Nizamuddin-Vishakhapatnam Express and Sambalpur Express were delayed.
Police said Himmat Singh, who was wanted in several cases of loot in Damoh district and in train loots, had confessed to his involvement in the crime.
