State Bank officers call strike on Aug 18

New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) All India State Bank Officers Federation has called a one-day protest strike on August 18, against the intiative for merger of State Bank of Saurashtra with the State Bank of India.

Claiming to have about 80,000 members, the organisation expressed concern that the State Bank management had misled the Union Cabinet into believing that the merger had been accepted by the unions.

The truth, according to the organisation, is just the opposite. The AISBOF has been steadfast in opposition to the merger since the begining.
