9 cell phones recovered from jail in Biharsharif

Biharsharif, Aug 8: Altogether nine cell phones and Rs 8,200 in cash besides, several incriminating articles were recovered from the divisional jail here during a raid carried out by the district administration today.

District Magistrate Anupam Kumar said the raid was conducted following a tip off that incriminating articles were being used by the jail inmates.

''Nine cell phones, four chargers, Rs 8,200 in cash, two knives, copper wire, calculator, telephone diary and ganja were recovered from the jail during the search operation,'' he said.

Besides the local police, jawans of the Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) were in the raiding team, he said.

Rs 5000 out of the total cash was recovered from the ward of former MLA Pappu Khan, Mr Kumar informed.
