Nashik, Aug 8 (UNI) The Swabhimani Shetkari Sangatana, an organisation fighting for the cause of famers in Maharashtra has organised a motorcycle rally on the Independence day, to press their various demands.
''The Sanghatana will take out a rally from Kherwadi in Nashik district. It will be part of our agitation for our demands which include complete loan waiver for all farmers, good prices for onions sugarcane and milk. Clearing of 7/12 report is our main demand,'' founder persident of the organisation, Shirol MLA Raju Shetty said in a press conference here today.
The rally will move on to Ahmednagar, Pune, Satara, Solapur, Sangli and conclude at Kolhapur on August 22. Everyday two public meetings will be held during the rally, where farmers from six-seven districts of western Maharashatra and North Maharashtra will participate in the rally, Shetty added.
Shetty also expressed his opinion about various other issues, including the Rs two increase in cow milk by the government yesterday. It will not benefit the farmers, he said.
