Lord Nelson still regarded by Brits as their biggest hero
London, Aug.8 : A poll has found that Lord Horatio Nelson continues to be the most loved military hero of a majority of Britons.
The admiral who famously routed Napoleon's navy at Trafalgar with his battle cry of "England expects that every man will do his duty" topped a poll of more than 1,000 adults.
Field Marshal Montgomery was second - with fellow World War II legend "Bomber" Harris and Falklands hero Colonel "H" Jones also figuring in the top eight.
The United Kingdom National Defence Association, which campaigns for more forces' funding, commissioned the poll reports The Sun.
The survey revealed almost a quarter of young adults had NO idea who to vote for.
