Deadline for filing claims on revision would be Aug 20:TN CEO

Chennai, Aug 8 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Naresh Gupta today announced that the last date for filing of claims and objections for the ongoing special summary revision, arising out of delimitation, would be August 20.

Having regard to the fact that there have been a lot of changes in the area of the constituencies due to delimitation, the last date was being rescheduled from August eight to August 20, Mr Gupta said.

''It is expected that with this extention of time, no eligible person, who is ordinarily resident in that area will get left out'', he said.

Instructions have been issued to all officers to display the electoral rolls in the special Grama Sabha meetings to be convened on August 15, he said.

People could also find out whether their names were in the list or not by visiting the website www.elections.tn.nic.in, Mr Gupta added.
