45 irrigation schemes costing Rs 42.55 cr under way in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 8 (UNI) An amount of Rs 42.55 crore has been sanctioned for 45 irrigation schemes in north Kashmir, official sources said today.

They said work has already started at a cost of Rs 42.55 crore in Bandipora district.

Over Rs 5.16 crore had been incurred on these schemes up to March this year.

Similarly, 25 water supply schemes at a cost of Rs 24.78 crore have been taken up under Public Health Engineering (PHE) sector in the district and an expenditure of Rs 20 lakh has been made up to July this year.

They said that over Rs 6.09 crore would be spent on these schemes this fiscal, Besides, for renovation of old pumps Rs13.27 crore are being utilized in the district.
