Pondy: Varsity embarks on anti-dowry rally

Puducherry, Aug 7: Sixteen students of the Sathya Bhama university, Chennai who embarked on an anti-dowry campaign from Chennai to Kanyakumari on cycles, reached Puducherry this morning.

The students said they called on Chief Minister N Rangasamy at his office and sought his blessings. They continued their journey, carrying placards with slogans such as 'do not seek dowry', 'do not give dowry' and a pledge to eradicate dowry.

The students will pass through several districts of Tamil Nadu, reach Kanyakumari on August 18, before returning to Chennai.
