Prof. Bhim, Poonchi hospitalised in Jammu
Jammu, Aug 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) chairman Bhim Singh and Jammu and Kashmir People Front (JKPF) president Satish Poonchi were today hospitalised after their condition suddenly deteriorated on the fourth day of their fast unto death, sources here said.
Prof. Singh was rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital after a team of doctors examining him reported his condition to be critical.
''Mr. Singh suffered from high blood pressure and his ECG was also abnormal and certain changes were noticed in the same which required further examination,'' a senior doctor attending Mr. Singh said.
However, Mr. Singh would be kept under observation and further investigation would be held during the next few hours while the party leaders decided to continue with chain hunger strike with Mr.
Romesh Khajuria sitting on fast today.
Meanwhile, Mr Poonchi was also lifted by the police and hospitalised after his condition worsened on the fourth day of the fast unto death, sources added.
The leaders staged fast unto death demanding restoration of land back to the Shrine Board as Jammu agitation entered 38th consecutive day.
