Meghalaya: Restricted transfer of students
Shillong, Aug 7: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBSE) has asked all affiliated schools to register the names of students studying in classess IX to XI and restrict their transfer to other institutions.
A notification, issued by the Board here today, stated that students seeking transfer to other institutions should show genuine reasons and take prior permission from the Board for the purpose.
The step has been taken to check malpractices, both by the students and school management, in the process of transfer of students from one institution to another.
''Transfer is allowed only in case of change of location of parents or guardians of the students. In such cases, a student would be allowed to change his or her school with prior permission from the Board on production of genuine documents and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the institute,'' the notification stated.
