Maoist Bandh hits long distance vehicular movement
Ranchi, Aug 7 (UNI) The CPI(Maoist) sponsored 24-hour North Chhotanagpur Bandh, in protest against the killing of party cadres in Hazaribagh a few days ago, affected long distance vehicular movement in the area.
Official sources said no untoward incident was reported so far.
The long route buses did not ply whereas normal life in the rural areas of Koderma, Chatra, Bokaro and other areas of North Chotanagpur region remained uneffected, official sources added.
Elaborate security arrangements were made by the state police following the Bandh call by the Maoists, with a special vigil on railway property.
Altogether three ultras, including two women, were killed in an encounter in Vishnugarh police station area of Hazaribagh.
