Inflation hits 12.01 per cent
New Delhi, Aug 6: Inflation hits 12 per cent. Inflation climbed from 11.98 per cent to 12.01 per cent for the week ended July 26. It crossed 12 per cent mark for the first time in thirteen years. Primary articles up by 0.1 per cent. Food products up by 0.1 per cent. Fuel and power remain unchanged.
Inflation rate which dipped to 11.89-per cent for the week ended July 12 was quite in line with the rate of inflation for the week ended July 5, that stood at 11.91 per cent, very marginally higher than the rate of 11.89 per cent reported a fortnight ago.
The Sensex of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) ended on Thursday, Aug 7 almost flat with a marginal gain of 43.71 points at 15,117.25, after swinging in a wide range between red and green.
