Highest commercial tax payers to be awarded annually in Bihar

Patna, Aug 7(UNI)Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today announced that five businessmen, paying highest commercial taxes in each circle of the state, would be felicitated every year.

After inaugurating an official building of the department here, Mr Modi said the state government would honour the businessmen every year to encourage the community in paying the commercial taxes timely without any attempts of evasion.

''Ongoing computerisation works in the offices of all circles will be completed within one month, enabling the businessmen to file on-line tax return'', he said.

Despite decreasing the commercial taxes on 150 items in the state, overall collection of the revenue had increased by 25 per cent in the previous fiscal.
