Fire erupts at Writers', many important documents gutted
Kolkata, Aug 7 (UNI) A massive fire broke out at the Writers' Building, the main administrative wing of the West Bengal government, in early today.
Fire brigade sources said 15 fire tenders managed to bring the blaze under control.
It was suspected that a short circuit from a computer located in the E-Block section of the building triggered the blaze, fire brigade personnel said.
Several important documents and public property were reduced to ashes. However, there was no report of any casualty.
''The situation is under control now and work at the Writers' will continue as usual today,'' the sources added.
