AP CM hails energy department for achieving target

Hyderabad, Aug 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today hailed the state energy department for achieving the target in the electrification of rural areas.

Reviewing the rural electrification under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) programme here, he said 16 lakh rural households were electrified so far and another 10 lakh would be electrified by March 2009, an official release said here.

It was programmed to complete all the infrastructure works under the RGGVY by 2008-09 and the electrification of targeted rural households by 2009-10, the release added.
