25-year-old software engineer commits suicide

Pune, Aug 7 (UNI) A 25-year-old software engineer has allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the eighth floor of his office building, situated at ''Sharada Centre'' in Karvenagar area of the city here.

Sandeep Appa Shelke committed suicide last night while on duty.

He was working with Persistent System India Limited since last year, Police Sub-Inspector of Deccan police station B N Nimbalkar told UNI today.

He said they have recovered a suicide note from the deceased's clothes before conducting the post-mortem at the Sassoon Hospital.

In that, Shelke had stated that ''nobody should be held responsible for my death. I was unable to work and very depressed. I try my best to meet work expectations, but still not able to do it.'' PSI Nimbalkar further said Shelke had even sent an SMS to his brother, Youraj, 15 minutes before committing suicide, informing him that he was going to take the extreme step.

The body has been handed over to the family members, he added.
