Yet another ceasefire violation by Pak troops on LoC in J
Srinagar, Aug 6 (UNI) Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire yet again on the Line of Control (LoC) when they targeted three Indian forward pickets with small arms fire this afternoon.
A Border Security Force (BSF) spokesman told UNI that at 1200 hrs Pakistani troops attacked two BSF and one Army forward post in Nowgam sector with small arms.
The firing continued for about 20 to 30 minutes, he said adding there was no damage to post or injury to troops in the firing.
This was for the third time during the past fortnight, that Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire in the sector.
However, a defence ministry spokesman said there was a firing incident in the sector details of which were still awaited.
He said it could be a cover to militants trying to infiltrate into this side. We are confirming the details from the post, he said.
An Indian soldier was killed when Pakistani troops opened fire on July 28 in the same sector.
Next day Pakistani troops again opened fire on the Indian positions in the same sector. However there was no loss of life in the firing. Later things become normal after field commanders of two armies hold a flag meeting.
The ceasefire on the LoC and International Border (IB) between the troops of both the countries is on since 2003 with reports of some violations.
