Samajwadi Party welcomes HC decision on SIMI
New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) Even as the Supreme Court today stayed till further order yesterday's Delhi High Court decision of lifting a ban on Student Islamic Movement of India(SIMI), the Samajwadi Party(SP) today welcomed the High Court decision.
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was in the capital to take part in the All-Party Meeting on the Amarnath land transfer controversy, said there was no need for imposing ban on SIMI, and if the outfit was to be banned at all, other organisaions like the RSS should also face the same action.
He said during his chief ministership in Uttar Pradesh, SIMI was not found to be indulging in activities requiring ban.
