India's ''Missed Call'' gets best International Film award in Isra
Mumbai Aug 6 (UNI) ''Missed Call'', the debut film of India's Shishir Srivastava of Reelism Films, has won the best international film award at the 6th Red International Film Festival at Eilat in Israel.
It was among 65 films, including Deepa Mehta's '' Water'', that took part in the festival, a spokeswoman of Reelism Films said here today.
This film was earlier selected as the inaugural film of the prestigious Indian panaroma section of the 37th International Film Festival of India, held in Goa in 2006.
Besides winning recognition at Stutgart and Los Angles Film Festivals, it went on to represent India along with big budget films like ''Lage Raho Munnabhai'' and ''Guru'' at Festival De Cannes in 2007.
The 105-minute English-Hindi film deals with a young man's obsession with his camera and his dream of making a film in varied situation of emotional adversity, ultimately leading the protagonist to make a film on himself.
