Fighter pilot dies of heart attack after landing IAF jet
Bidar, Karnataka, Aug 6 (UNI) A possible disaster was averted but a precious life was lost when a young Indian Air Force pilot died of a massive heart attack soon after landing a fighter jet at the Air Force station here today.
Officials at the air station said the 34-year-old Squadren Leader Vikas Sharma died instantaneously soon after landing the aircraft, which he took to skies on a training sortie along with a trainee pilot.
"Even as he was trying to climb down the ladder, after parking the jet fighter, he collapsed on the tarmac and died," an IAF official said.
The Air station officials were making preparations to send the body to Madhya Pradesh where Sq. Ldr. Sharma belonged to.
