Court summons Pooja Bhatt, others

Mumbai, Aug 6 (UNI) A Sessions Court today summoned Bollywood film producer Pooja Bhatt and three others, on September 5 to hear a revision application filed against them by a city-based social activist in an obscenity case.

Activist Vinod Jain has challenged the lower court's order of July 14, discharging Pooja and others in an obscenity case, stating that discharge of application in a private complaint is bad in law and not applicable under section 239 of IPC.

Pooja, director of the Fish Eye Network, had allegedly displayed obscene posters of her film 'Rog', portraying scantily clad South African model Illene Hamman, at public places.

Mr Jain had also stated that the posters were against the Hindu culture.

Additional Sessions Judge R T Mahajan admitted the petition and summoned Pooja and others.

Pooja, Sujit Kumar Singh and Shreeya Creation had filed the discharge application contending that the posters were not ''obscene''.
