Court summons police personnel in fake encounter case
New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) A city court today summoned 13 Delhi police personnel in the January 11, 2002 fake encounter case.
Delhi police raided a house in East Delhi Pandav Nagar area and killed Rupender alias Kamujat who was wanted in several cases in Ghaziabad and Delhi.
The police team had then claimed that Rupinder was killed in a retaliatory fire but on the direction of Delhi Court the case was transferred to CBI who found that neither there was gun shot residue on the hands of the deceased nor there were finger prints on the revolver recovered from him.
CBI had earlier filed a closure report before the court stating that the Lt Governor had not accorded the sanction mandatory for prosecuting a public servant.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain today summoned Vinay Tyagi, Atul Tyagi, Satish Rana(then Sub Inspector),Satinder Singh, Neeraj Kumar, Naginder (then Head Constable),Prem Pal Singh, Raj Kumar, Hari Om, Naresh Pal, Sudhir Kumar , Rustam Ahmad and Upinder (then constable) to appear before the court on September 10.
