Court grants bail murder case accused

Vijayawada, Aug 6 (UNI) The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court here today granted bail to Guruvinder Singh Anand, the prime suspect in a B-Pharmacy student Ayesha Meera murder case.

The Magistrate D Chiranjeevulu passed the order after Singh's councellor David Ratnekumar filed a petition in the court for his release stating that police had failed to file a chagesheet in the court in the stipulated period of 90 days.

On may 5 2008, Singh was arrested on the prisoner-on-transit (PT) warrant and produced in court. He was remanded in custody and lodged in District jail here.

The police reportedly stated that as the case had not come to a conclusion as yet the chargesheet was not filed.

It may be recalled that Ayesha Meera was brutally raped and murdered in a private hostel at Ibrahimpatnam on December 27, 2007.
