Congress MLA's bail application rejected

Junagadh, Aug 6 (UNI) A Veraval court has rejected the bail application of Bhagadbhai Dhanabhai Barad, Congress MLA from Talala in Saurashtra, in an assault and arms loot case.

The court, yesterday, also rejected the remand application by police and sent Barad to judicial custody.

He surrendered to Talala police on the night of July 4.

Mr Barad, along with his eight accomplices, had attacked Forest officials on June 4 in the forest department office and snatched a forest officer's service revolver.

A complaint was lodged with the Talala police in this regard.

Police had arrested Mr Barad's accomplices but Barad managed to evade arrest. Later, police declared him absconding.
