Orissa govt signs MoU with UNFPA
Bhubaneswar, Aug 5 (UNI) In a bid to facilitate the maternal and child health programme, the Orissa government today signed an MoU with the United National Population Fund(UNFPA) Official sources said the agreement was part of the State Programme Action Plan of the UNFPA to support the health sector in Orissa for the period 2008-2012.
The plan intends to facilitate the implementation of ongoing Maternal&Child Health programme and also support population stabilization initiatives.
A formal agreement in this regard was signed by Orissa Health Secretary T K Pandey and UNFPA country director Nesim Tumkaya. The Health Department had already initiated structural reforms to bring about overall deveopment in the health service delivery system.
And now with the MoU, the UNFPAs would provide the technical and institutional support for better implementation of health programmes.
