Judicial remand to company official in AP

Vijayawada, Aug 5: The Third Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court today sent the Managing Director of Gold Quest India, a multi-level marketing company to judicial remand till August 14.

The magistrate M V Ramesh, on July 29, accorded permission to the Governorpet police to take Pushpam Appala Naidu into police custody, who is in remand at the central women's prison in Warangal.

Later, yesterday the police here arrested the MD of the company that was recently closed, after collecting crores of rupees from the public.

The Magistrate passed the order last month after the police moved a petition, seeking the issue of a prisoner-on-transit (PT) warrant on her, following complaints from a few members of the company, who alleged that they were ''deceived'' by her.

Earlier, the Warangal police arrested Pushpam in Chennai and sent her to judicial remand.
