Hasina's parole extended for a month for treatment in US
Dhaka, Aug 5 (UNI) Bangladesh former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's parole was extended by a month to facilitate her treatment abroad, a Home Ministry notification said today.
Sheikh Hasina, who is now in US for treatment of her ears and eyes was granted interim release on June 11 for eight weeks which is scheduled to expire tomorrow.
The government extended the parole responding to her scientist husband Dr Wajed Miah, who petitioned to Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed earlier in the day today for extending the parole of his wife.
The extended parole will now end on September 6, said the notification.
Hasina left for the US on June 12, a day after she was set free following an executive order for her interim release.
