Child's death on first dy of school triggers protest

Hoshiarpur, Aug 5 (UNI) A four-year-old child today died on his first day in a prestigious local school here, leading to violent protests by city dwellers.

Tushar, son of Amit Arora of local Central Town, who went to Kidzee school this morning, suddenly died at about 0856 hrs.

As the news of his death spread, a mob assembled at the school and damaged flowerpots, a sculpture and smashed windowpanes.

SPs Opinderjit Singh Ghuman and Sushil Kumar rushed to the spot with heavy police force to control the situation.

They recorded the statements of the Principal and other staff members of the school.

According to school sources, Tushar had some physical problem and had joined the school only today.

The parents of the deceased Tushar were reluctant to pursue the case.

They cremated his body in the local cremation ground.
