Meghalaya: Arrested ULFA cadre commits suicide
Shillong, Aug 5: A top ULFA rebel, who was arrested by Meghalaya police from Tura in Garo Hills district on Saturday, committed suicide in police custody.
Police said here today that the captured rebel leader, identified as Dharmendra Hajong (38), committed suicide by hanging himself from the ventilator of a toilet of the police lock-up yesterday.
Police got suspicious when the ultra remained locked up inside the toilet for a long time.
Later, police found the militant hanging from the ventilator.
