Woman commits suicide on metro tracks

Kolkata, Aug 4 (UNI) A woman today commited suicide by jumping on the tracks before a train at the Girish Park metro railway station here.

Metro railway sources told UNI that the incident took place at 1220 hrs.

The victim's mutilated body was beyond any recognition.

Metro services on the Up line between Park Street and Dum Dum was disrupted till 1300 hours, leading to the cancellation of three Up and two Down trains.

However, services on both lines between Tollygunge and Maiden remained unaffected by the incident.
