Voters list full of anomalies: Congress

Kolkata, Aug 4 (UNI) West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee today alleged that the voter's list was full of anomalies and urged the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to take steps to correct all irregularities.

After an all-party meeting with CEO Debasish Sen, State Congress working president Pradip Bhattacharjee said that in a number of cases, photos were not tallying with the names in the voter's list.

Mr Bhattacharjee accused WEBEL, the main institute assigned to complete the task of taking snaps, of tampering with the process intentionally.

He also requested Mr Sen to take legal actions against WEBEL for ''vitiating'' the voter's list.

Mr Bhattacharjee said the Congress would organise movements if the anomalies were not corrected immediately.
