Unclaimed body cremated by Railway police
Aizawl, Aug 04 (UNI) An unclaimed body, cremated by Railway police at West Bengal's Kissanganj, could be that of a Mizo youth, who went missing from a train last Friday, official sources said.
Guwahati Mizoram House liaison officer T Ropianga said over the phone that he had sent a team to ascertain the identity of the deceased, cremated on Sunday afternoon.
One Lalhlimpuia (24), of Lawngtlai district in Mizoram, was on his way back from Bangalore where he secured admission in a bible college.
He boarded a Bangalore-Guwahati train with two other Mizo youths.
On reaching Guwahati, his friends discovered he was no more in the train and went back to as far as Siliguri in search of him.
According to the sources, the railway police recovered the body on railway tracks.
After lying unclaimed at Bogola police station, the railway police cremated the body.
