Ugrappa to function as opposition leader
Bangalore, Aug 4 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Council pro-tem Chairman N Tippanna today announced that Congress party member V S Ugrappa, will function as Opposition leader in the House.
Mr Tippanna announced the name of Mr Ugrappa when the House assembled for the day.
He said Mr Veeranna Mattikatti of Congress had quit the post of the leader of opposition voluntarily.
Meanwhile, Mr Mattikatti filed his nomination to contest for the post of the Chairman of the Legislative Council, besides Mr Shashil Namoshi from BJP.
The 70-member House will hold election tomorrow.
