Tohana town mourns over Naina Devi victims

Fatehabad, Aug 4 (UNI) Thousands of people of Tohana town, which lost 10 people in yesterday's stampede at the Naina Devi temple in Himachal Pradesh, today gathered at the cremation ground to pay their homage to the victims.

Ten persons of Tohana town, identified as Mamta, Mahendro, Puja, Dipak, Santosh, Rani, Birbal, Surendra, Vikky and Sapana lost their lives in the tragic incident. All the markets and the shops today remained closed in memory of those who perished in the incident.

Deputy Commissioner OP Sheoran was also present at the cremation ground and stated that an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh would be given to the next-of-kin of each of the victims.

As many as 15 persons of Fatehabad district, including two each from village Diwana and Jamalpur and one from village Ratia, were killed in yesterday's stampede.

As many as 32 persons of Haryana lost their lives in the tragedy.
